There has been plenty of chatter this weekend about summer kickoff parties. I’ll have to tip my hat to Dan’s Rosé Soirée.
Heading out onto the grounds, it was a sea of chic people, though the lanyards to hold your glass around your neck might have been rethought. Luckily, not many people chose to add that accessory. Chandeliers with dangling roses and a rose covered wall added an enchanted garden feel. Vintners from near and far came to sample their wares. From the Veneto to the Loire Valley, some hometown standouts were from Croteaux on the North Fork, a rosé-only vineyard, (also a gorgeous day trip) and the venerable favorite Summer in a bottle, from Wölffer. But order your cases now, before they both sell out. Bites from places like Union Cantina, Loaves and Fishes and 75 Main kept us from getting too tipsy. Celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli was spotted, and word was Justin Bieber may have graced us with his presence, but alas, another time.
