Winemaker Chantal Gonet will host an intimate champagne seminar and tasting on Saturday, October 21st at 5 p.m. The evening will begin with a conducted seminar on all things champagne with a guided tasting of Philippe Gonet selections from 5 – 6 p.m. An early evening cocktail party from 6 – 8 p.m. will follow offering guests the opportunity to chat and meet the winemaker. Enjoy Philippe Gonet Champagne paired with delicious hors d’oeuvres in the Baker House gardens and grand living room. Sunday, October 22nd beginning at 11 a.m., The Baker House 1650 will host a special champagne brunch with Chantal Gonet. This will be a unique opportunity to enjoy the famous Baker House brunch without being a guest at the inn. Sip bubbly and enjoy a full menu from the Baker House kitchen hosted in the gardens.
Founded in 1830, today the Gonet estate is run by the seventh-generation brother and sister team of Pierre and Chantal Gonet. They have continued to elevate the house as a reference for Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The house has built its reputation on Blanc de Blancs for the past 100 years. While technically a negociant, the Gonet family is among the largest family growers in Champagne and the majority of their production is from estate grown fruit. Pierre and Chantal are committed to espousing the terrior of Le Mesnil through their distinct Blanc de Blancs cuvees.
