For the first time in the Hamptons this week, jewelry designer Renna Brown-Taher will host a Trunk Show at The Class by Taryn Toomey. A brand new designer, she made her debut on Moda Operandi in July. Her line is inspired by two coffee bean shells she found on Laguna Beach (where she was raised) when she was 9.
Everything is handmade in NYC, Renna seeks to capture the memory of ‘that perfect summer,’ something we all can relate to from childhood. The jewelry is made of 18K gold, diamonds and pearls that Renna sources, and she knows her stuff. A Gemologist certified from The Gemological Institute of America, she earned her Master’s Degree at the Sotheby’s institute of art, and honed her eye in their jewelry department. Not a bad place to learn! After spending so much time writing and researching the finest vintage jewelry, Renna decided to create her own.
I hope you’ll come this weekend and check it out yourself. Her pieces have an heirloom quality to them, the kind of things you’ll want to wear everyday. She will be on hand to meet, and talk about her inspiration.
This Saturday, August 25th, from 7:30Am-12:30PM at The Class by Taryn Toomey, 264 Butter Lane, Bridgehampton.
