Saturday, August 25th marks the 19th annual Prostate Cancer Foundation’s Gala in the Hamptons. Enjoy a night of dining and dancing while raising money for an incredible cause.
I spoke with Jan Haber, Vice President of Events at the Prostate Cancer Foundation and their COO Christine Jones to get the inside scoop on what they do. Founded in 1993, by Mike Milken, they have raised over $750 million in 25 years for cancer research. They specialize in early stage research, and through this, have also made advances in battling brain, bladder, lung and breast cancer. They have cut the death rate associated with prostate cancer in half over the past 25 years. Where it used to be one in seven men were diagnosed, it is now one in nine. Over 200,000 men are alive today thanks to the foundation and their supporters.
Saturday night, enjoy music from John Fogerty, one of the founders of Creedence Clearwater Revival, along with other surprise guests (I asked, I couldn’t get it out of them.) Cocktails begin at 6:30, with dinner at 7:30, at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, 279 Montauk Highway.
